Search Washington County Recent Arrests

Anyone can look up Washington County recent arrests with a little direction. The county's custody roster is the place to start. It lists people booked into the jail right now. A booking photo and arrest details may appear while the person stays in custody. Released inmates can drop off the live list fast. So treat custody status, the arrest record, and the court result as three separate facts. Anyone checking who was arrested in Washington County should trace each step. The right agency or court answers each one.

Washington County Recent Arrest Sources

The official first stop for Washington County recent arrests is the Washington County Sheriff’s Office inmate roster. It shows who is in custody now. It is a live list, not a history. An entry can include the booked date and time, current status, holding facility, reporting agency, identifying details, an image link, and a VINE notification control. Some fields change after booking. The charge listed is what officers reported at intake.

The county publishes no same-day feed or blotter. The roster covers both questions. Follow-up simply differs. Use Arrested Today to read the newest booked timestamps and allow for intake delay. Use Arrest Reports for a multi-day search spanning the live roster, an agency records request, and the local paper’s weekly arrest report. Each route answers a different question.

The official WCSO website ties the county’s roster, forms, wanted feature, and app together. The homepage view below marks that official domain.

Treat the agency domain and its current contact details as the benchmark. Any site repeating Washington County arrest facts should match them.

Who Was Arrested Today

A person booked late at night may not appear right away. Intake, data entry, image handling, and publication happen as separate steps. WCSO posts no guaranteed lag or weekend schedule. Compare the roster’s booked timestamp with the custody-status date. Those fields answer different questions. One records intake timing, while the other reflects the status the roster currently holds. Neither one marks the exact time of arrest.

If a new name is missing, call Washington County Jail at (850) 638-6110. Staff there can give a direct custody answer. The public roster displays ten entries at a time, sorted by newest booked date. Older bookings can slide out of view. For one person’s release or transfer updates, use the VINE Arrest Check. Neither source’s absence proves no arrest occurred.

Search Washington County Jail Records

The WCSO roster is the county’s full official online custody source. It covers Washington County Jail. Searching starts in its “Type to Search” field. A matching entry opens through the “Read More” view. A full entry holds more than a name and image. Some fields can be blank, restricted, or missing for a given person. The list below describes the interface, not a promise of every field for every booking.

Roster fieldWhat it means
Name and inmate IDThe displayed identity and county jail identifier
Booked date/timeThe recorded booking timestamp, not necessarily the arrest time
Custody status/dateThe current feed value and its status timestamp
Holding facilityThe facility attached to the public entry
Reporting agencyThe agency named in the booking data, with contact details when supplied
Physical details and addressAge, sex, race, height, weight when available, and an address field
Image and chargesAn intake image link and charges organized under the booking

The official roster screen image shows the search and detail controls used for a Washington County jail lookup. Each control matters in a booking search.

The roster’s image links run on VINE/Appriss infrastructure. That is display behavior, not a promise that every booking keeps a public photo.

  1. Open the official roster and search the person’s name as accurately as possible.
  2. Open the detail view and note the inmate ID, booked timestamp, status date, facility, and reporting agency.
  3. Use the reporting agency and booking number when requesting the underlying arrest material.
  4. Check the court record separately before drawing any conclusion about the case.

Washington County Jail sits at 1100 Brickyard Road, Chipley, FL 32428. WCSO also offers an official channel. It is the Washington County Sheriff (FL) mobile app. The app carries agency information, not a separate booking or mugshot feed. Do not treat it as a second historical roster.

Where Washington Arrest Records Appear

Official sources each answer a different part of an arrest inquiry. WCSO handles county jail booking and current custody. Its records office handles record requests. The Washington County Clerk holds the court trail. The Florida Department of Corrections covers state prison and supervision, so check these offices before any unofficial arrest index or news report.

For a multi-day view, the Washington County News mugshot category is the strongest local option. It publishes weekly. One report covered April 25 through May 1, 2025. It cited Washington County Jail as its source. Other entries carry the label “PHOTO NOT AVAILABLE,” and publication can trail the actual booking by days.

Recent Arrests by Washington City

City labels do not decide which agency made an arrest. Chipley has its own police department and records custodian. Vernon and Wausau post no separate municipal arrest log. All three city searches start with Washington County Jail when the booking happened there. Then the reporting-agency field routes the report request.

  • Chipley Recent Arrests explains the two-record path between Chipley Police Department and the WCSO jail intake system.
  • Vernon Recent Arrests uses the county roster and emphasizes agency confirmation because no city blotter was located.
  • Wausau Recent Arrests covers the same county-first route and the absence of a town-specific public feed.

The city pages are maps, not databases. Third-party sites may add a city label. That label proves neither which agency made the arrest nor who remains in custody.

Washington County Arrest Record Fields

A roster entry barely scratches the surface of a Washington County arrest record. The full file can hold an intake card, an arrest affidavit, and a charge sheet. It may also include a booking photo. A commitment or release entry and jail docket material can appear as well. Florida's GS2 retention schedule spells out what booking records commonly contain. Think booking number, charges, and physical and demographic details. Expect arresting and booking officers too, plus the time and place of the arrest. A probable-cause summary often rides along. Whether any piece reaches you depends on the record held, exemptions, redaction, and retention.

Booking
The jail intake process that creates the custody record and may include a photograph.
Bond
A court-set condition for release. It is not a finding of guilt.
Arraignment
A court stage at which a charge is formally addressed and a plea may be entered.
Disposition
The recorded outcome of a charge or case, such as dismissal, plea, acquittal, or sentence.
Expungement
A court-authorized process affecting access to qualifying criminal-history material under Florida law.

Write down the name, inmate ID or booking number, booked date, reporting agency, and any court case number before you do anything else. Those details separate people who share a name and tie an intake entry to its later docket. Treat address and physical-description fields as leads only.

Washington County Arrest Photos

Where does an official Washington County mugshot actually surface? The WCSO roster serves booking photographs through VINE/Appriss for entries that display them. That is the current arrangement, not a blanket photo-release rule. Juvenile, sealed, expunged, and victim-sensitive material can be withheld or redacted. Someone released from custody may drop off the current roster. The agency record or court case can live on. When a photo no longer displays, request the booking photograph by name from WCSO Records. Give the booking date or number. The office may decline because the image is exempt, restricted, unavailable, or no longer held. The Florida Department of Corrections offender search shows a different photo for a person in state prison or under state supervision. That image is not the county intake photo. Unofficial publishers also carry Washington County booking photos. These include RecentlyBooked's Washington County page and Busted Newspaper's county section. The Mugshots.com county archive also belongs on the list. Expect gaps. Their listings run stale, duplicated, or plain wrong at times. Arrests.org offers a statewide Florida search with a county filter rather than a dedicated county page. Mugshots.zone lists no local Washington County section.

Request Washington County Arrest Records

Want an older booking record from Washington County? The WCSO public-record request form exists for exactly those older bookings. It also works for a released person. Or it can pull a fuller arrest record than the online roster shows. The form offers a Public Records Request option. The requester name or business field can stay blank if you prefer. You just add identifying details and any comments that help narrow the search. To speed things up, include the full legal name as known. Add date of birth, aliases if relevant, and a narrow date range. Include a possible booking date, booking number, and reporting agency.

The official records form displays every field you can use. It does so without showing anyone's submitted personal information.

Washington County Sheriff public records request form

Ask for each piece by name. Request the booking card, arrest affidavit, charge sheet, booking photo, commitment or release record, and jail docket material separately. That wording settles whether "the arrest record" includes the photograph.

  1. Save the roster details and identify the agency that reported the arrest.
  2. Submit the narrow request through WCSO’s form, or contact Records Custodian Terisa Hayes at records@wcso.us or (850) 638-6070.
  3. Ask for an estimate before extensive work begins. WCSO publishes no fixed booking-photo price or guaranteed turnaround.
  4. If anything is withheld, ask which exemption applies and whether the rest can be produced with redaction.
  5. Use the clerk’s court search for the final case status rather than treating the booking charge as the outcome.

Florida Statutes §119.07 governs inspection and copying, subject to exemptions. The Florida Attorney General's open-government FAQ lays out general copy principles: up to 15 cents per one-sided paper copy, $1 for certification, and a reasonable actual charge for extensive staff or technical work. Those are statewide figures, not a quoted WCSO photo fee.

Florida Arrest Records and Removal

Florida public-records law opens the door to agency-held material while preserving statutory exemptions. It never forces WCSO to build a new report, keep every booking online, or release a protected portion. An exempt part can be redacted and the balance released where the law allows. Online visibility and agency retention are two different questions. The GS2 schedule sets a floor of one anniversary year after release. That floor covers booking records. It also covers inmate incarceration records and commitment and release lists. Jail docket books are permanent. Those periods manage records; they do not promise a web photo stays visible. Ask WCSO whether an older record is still held, was lawfully disposed of, or moved elsewhere. The Florida State Archives fields questions about a known transfer or collection. Nothing shows routine transfers of ordinary booking photos. Sealing or expungement starts with the FDLE Seal and Expunge Process. A certificate of eligibility comes first before a court petition when required. Eligibility turns on the facts. A certificate is not an order. Correct the official source first, and keep the order or favorable outcome. Then work each publisher and search result one by one. Florida Statutes §901.43 builds a no-fee removal process for qualifying mugshot publishers after a written request. Duties and remedies are spelled out in the statute. It does not erase the official arrest record. Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, and Mugshots.com each run their own free correction or record-maintenance routes. Follow only the documented no-fee process. Share no more sensitive material than necessary, and get legal advice on eligibility or noncompliance. The state mugshot statute stands as the controlling official text, not a promise that every request qualifies.

Weigh any demand for payment to suppress a booking image against the statute itself. The law supplies the process; nothing more is required.

Washington County Warrants and Arrests

The sheriff's office runs a Wanted page, not an all-warrant database. Only a few names appear, and the dates run years back. Treat each entry as a lead. A missing name means nothing either way.

FDLE offers a statewide wanted-person search. A name and a CAPTCHA get you in. FDLE cautions that a hit does not confirm probable cause or authorize action. Verify with WCSO at (850) 638-6111, the issuing court, the clerk, or a lawyer. A docket adds context, not live warrant status.

Statewide results stay leads. The FDLE form shows why every match needs a local call.

Florida FDLE wanted persons warrant search form

Do not confront, follow, or detain anyone on a match. Pass tips through WCSO's tip form. Call emergency services when the situation calls for it. The form offers no reward and no guaranteed anonymity. Anyone facing a possible warrant should talk to a lawyer or the court first.

After a Washington County Arrest

A Washington County arrest starts with booking. The court docket tells the rest of the story. The Clerk's records page splits Official Records from Court Records and links to the Civitek case search. Court Records holds filings, hearings, and outcomes. Official Records is a separate index, not the criminal docket.

A case may run through first appearance, bond, arraignment, motions, plea, trial, sentencing, probation, or dismissal. The path varies. A roster charge can be amended or dropped. A released person's case can stay open after the jail entry disappears. If no case appears, check spelling and timing, then call the clerk.

Keep the systems separate: WCSO records booking and custody; the clerk records the case; neither a mugshot nor an initial charge proves guilt.

Washington Arrests Beyond County Custody

County custody is not the whole picture. The FDC Offender Search takes over once a person enters state prison or state supervision. Search by DC number or name. Detail pages may include an offender photo. FDC warns that data changes and may lag on location or release details. Someone newly booked in Chipley stays on the county roster, not in FDC.

The federal inmate locator covers BOP inmates from 1982 forward. It tracks federal prison custody, not Washington County bookings. It offers no WCSO-style photo gallery. The ICE Online Detainee Locator handles current or recent immigration detention. It needs an A-number and country of birth, or exact biographical details. It cannot search minors. Washington County posts no separate ICE feed.

VINE does not replace these federal tools. A person can move from the county jail into state or federal custody, and the right system changes with the transfer.
